We pass the benefit on to our customers, and we make it easier to shop for a rental
and to make the reservation.
Where can I pick the
vehicle up at the airport?
From our rental-company partner, located
on the airport’s car-rental level, open 24 hours a day.
When
will I receive confirmation of my reservation?
As soon as your reservation
is complete, you will receive an e-mailed confirmation including all the details
of your rental. We advise you to save that e-mail. As soon as payment is received,
you will receive the voucher with which you can pick up the car from our rental-company
partner.
For certain reservations, called “on request,” we send your confirmation
within 48 hours, after ensuring that the vehicle is available at the rental company.
What
about cancellation?
You can cancel your vehicle rental through CAP
ISRAEL for any reason, without surcharge, simply by phoning 972-2-852-7006 or
by e-mail. Any cancellation placed 24 work-hours before the vehicle’s pickup time
is without charge. After that, you will be charged for one day’s rental.

For rentals inside Israel, does
local tax need to be added?
A tourist with Israeli citizenship must
either present a passport with a B2 visa valid for three months, stamped by Israeli
border control, or pay 15.5% VAT.
Can I use someone
else’s credit card?
The credit card must be in the name of the vehicle’s
principal driver or, if the spouse is present when the vehicle is picked up, it
may be in the spouse’s name.
Can I choose the car
model?
Only the vehicle’s category is guaranteed. The vehicle models
are examples. When you present your voucher for picking the vehicle up, ask our
rental-company partner what is currently available in the car park.
Can
I get a diesel car?
Only the vehicle’s category is guaranteed. We
can’t guarantee a fuel type, but you can ask our rental-company partner what is
available in the car park when you come to pick up the vehicle.
Will
I have a CD player in my car?
It all depends on what category you
reserve. The vehicles belong to our rental-company partners and we can’t promise
particular accessories.

Are the vehicles air-conditioned?
All our vehicles are indeed air-conditioned.
What
is the minimum age for renting a vehicle?
In order to rent a vehicle,
you must be at least 21, or 23 in certain cases, and you must be a licensed driver
of at least one year’s standing. However, minimum age may still vary according
to the rental company, country, and vehicle category. Some rental companies apply
a young-driver surcharge.
Am I the only person
who can drive the vehicle?
There can be several drivers for the same
vehicle. At some rental companies, such an option is standard. Other companies
require payment for it when you pick up the vehicle. You will find the information
among the rental conditions. All the drivers must show that they are licensed
drivers of more than one year’s standing.
For driving
abroad, do I need an international license?
Some countries require
an international license. Be aware that a copy of your license is unacceptable.
A copy of a declaration that your license has been lost or stolen is unacceptable.
An international license must always be accompanied by a country’s license.
Where
do I pick the vehicle up?
The rented vehicle will be waiting for
you with our rental-company partner, whose contact details are in the voucher
we e-mail to you.

In
order to pick my vehicle up, what documents do I need?
To pick your
vehicle up, you need to present every one of the following documents:
- your driver’s license (that is, the license of the person named on the voucher)
- an international credit card, in original embossed plastic and, compulsorily,
in the name of the principal driver
- the voucher that Cap Israel sent to
you when you made the reservation.
Can I
leave my deposit in the form of a check? Or cash ?
The rental
companies rarely accept a check or cash as a deposit. You will need to ask the
rental company when you arrive to pick up the vehicle.
Can
I change the duration of my rental during the rental?
Yes, either
directly with the rental company or via Cap Israel. In the latter case, you will
settle with Cap Israel for the extra days.
What
happens if I return the vehicle late?
It is for our rental-company
partner to decide whether the degree of lateness justifies charging you for another
day. If you know you will need the vehicle longer, you can always request an extension
directly from the rental company. If you do so, you agree on the extra charge
at that time.
If I return the vehicle early, will
I be credited?
There is no reimbursement for early return. However,
you can modify the rental’s duration before picking the vehicle up. Days are calculated
according 24-hour increments.

Can I pick the vehicle up at one
office and return it at another?
Yes, but you must make the arrangement
by phone at the time of reservation or in person at the rental company. Some rental
companies charge a stated fee for such returns.
Can
I leave my rented vehicle at the office outside working hours?
Yes,
if you leave the papers and the car keys in the rental company’s mailbox and indicate
where you left the car. Ask the rental company’s permission at the time you pick
the vehicle up.
And if I return the car without
a full tank?
The vehicle is rented to you with a full tank of fuel.
You are expected to bring it back with the tank full. If the rental company considers
that the tank is not full enough upon return, then it will fill the tank but it
will charge you more than the retail price for the fuel.
What
happens if there’s an accident or the vehicle is stolen?
You must
come to the nearest office of our rental-company partner to make a declaration,
providing the relevant third-party information if any. If the vehicle is stolen,
undergoes an accident, or is damaged, the deductible will be charged to you directly
by the rental company. In order to receive reimbursement for that deductible (apart
from fees for filing and/or vehicle storage) you must sign up for the “no deductible”
option when you make your reservation with Cap Israel.
What
happens if the rented vehicle breaks down?
The rental company has
a repair service of its own, with contact details as supplied directly by our
rental-company partner on the rental contract when you pick the vehicle up.

Do the rates you post include insurance ?
Yes. All Cap Israel’s rates, regardless of destination and of vehicle category,
include not only compulsory insurance (third-party and civil liability) but also
supplemental insurance for accidents (collision damage waiver) and theft protection,
with reduced deductible.
What kind of insurance
is PAI ?
Personal Assistance Insurance. It is general coverage,
for the driver and passengers, of medical, legal, and judicial costs. Often it
overlaps legal-aid assistance, insurance from a credit card, or some other benefit.
What falls outside the insurance coverage?
- Use of
the vehicle by someone not designated in the rental contract. Failure to respect
the load capacity or the shock absorption capacity.
- False declarations
in the rental contract or in an accident report.
- Deliberate damage, or
malfunctions arising from improper fuel.
- Use of the vehicle for commercial
purposes, in auto races, under the influence of alcohol, or under the influence
of substances that may impair the reflexes necessary for driving.
- Damage
to the chassis bottom, roof, tires, wheel rims, vehicle interior, or glass.
What
is the “no deductible” option?
If the vehicle suffers accident or
damage, the amount of the deductible will be directly charged to you by the rental
company. In order to give you a reimbursement of that deductible, we offer a “no
deductible” option for $4 a day, varying according to the vehicle category. The
average amount of the deductible is $600 for the more modest categories of vehicles.
You are informed of the amount of the deductible at reservation time. The rental
company may refer to this option as SCDW or STP.
I
need to rent a baby seat.
You can make a request at reservation time,
and we will pass it to our partner. Only our partner can commit to the availability
of accessories, and you will make any associated payment directly to the rental
company.
With whom do I settle regarding extras?
All extras (baby seat, ski rack, booster seat, additional driver, etc.) are to
be settled personally with our rental-company partner.
Can
I get a ski rack or roof rack?
You can make a request at reservation
time, and we will pass it to our partner. Only our partner can commit to the availability
of accessories, and you will make any associated payment directly to the rental
company.
Can I request rental without insurance?
Our rates are all-inclusive and discounted. Insurance cannot be waived. But you
might have coverage at the level of the deductible; that depends on your credit
card.
